What Was, And Is...
Sorry for the lapse in posting. I truly regret any mental anguish and trauma that has been caused by my absence here. My flogging will continue until morale improves.
So...anyway. Decisions have been made and my steady stream...

has turned into...

We are headed back to Nashville to settle and continue my experience and career in music. It has been a great 3 years moving to Nashville, Birmingham, Kansas City, Montgomery, and now back to Nashville. Stephanie and I have learned a lot and have grown deeper in our faith and hopefully more like Christ. We have no regrets but are ready to settle down. Now what? The last two weeks has brought a deluge of thoughts about what the future may look like. When will we move, where will we live, how will we make money? The visioning process can be quite random. Thoughts while in the shower, on the internet, in prayer, at work. The next challenge is sorting them out and seeing how the path takes shape. The annoying phone calls are going out to a lot of influential people in my life (you know who you are, or will know shortly, and I apologize). They usually go, "Hey man, I'm thinking this, this, this. Not sure how it may work out but I am going to interupt your busy life and ask for prayer, favors, input, beds to sleep in, help moving boxes, and a myriad of other things!". Then there is or will be an offer to buy lots of beer. So, be on the lookout, I will be calling! It is a great place to be and we are excited about the possibilities in front of us. Our word from the Spirit has been wisdom, and that will be our guide. God has been faithful in clarifying desire and direction, though in oft subtle ways. He is good and will continue to work good in us and make us more like Jesus. You guys are also very good to us and I want to say thank you in arears and in advance for all that you have done and will do. For now it is off to Slapout for a while and we will see you in Nashville shortly! Peace.

Could settle down a little closer to us couldn't you? Gosh! Don't you know yet that it's all about MEEEEE!? *snicker* Anywho, Nashville suits you guys, I think. I do wish you would be closer. Think we can bug you for a visit while you're in Bama? We'll buy the Cups.
It is through the rough rapids in our lives that we seem to grow the most. Wisdom, what a wonderful subject to ponder on, to pray about, and for God to fill you with. We love you being right here, but you were mighty happy in Nashville, and hey, we can be there in five hours. Blessings to both of you.
I'll be there for whatever you need, you know that. You should just know that my tastes in beer are becoming much more refined. ;-)
Glad you are blogging again. I'm hoping that will some sort of way for Lane & I to keep up with the life happenings of all those we love and will miss. I think the Nashville decision is an excellent one. It just seems right and I know God will provide all your needs. Just look back on the last six months. If that isn't enough testimony to the faithfulness of God, I don't know what is. You guys are such an encouragement to me when we're about to embark on a scary new challenge. I feel a peace that God will provide for us too and part of that comes from the fellowship we share with all of you.
Call if you guys need anything.
Well, I may not be able to make it to Slapout for the packing up stage, but I can FOR SURE (with little notice and ridiculous excitement) come to Nashville to help unload some trucks and cars- just let me know when the big day arrives!
mary,
god is good and faithful always. i am excited for you guys as well. boston will be a good experience for you.
val-i hear you have gone into the t-shirt making business. i will be looking to make some shirts to sell on the road and can't stand the thought of selling the cheesy christian t's! i will be in touch.
awesome!
crap- I hit enter too soon. What I meant to say was that inspired by Heather's "Jesus Loves You, But I'm His Favorite", I've been wanting to do a Jesus line, with cool shirts, so maybe we could work that up. Along with some pure Brian Gates promotion ones, of course...
maybe a "brian is my homeboy" shirt. hmmmmm.....
I think a "Brian is my homeboy" is a must! =) I am excited for you guys moving back to Nashville - its on my way home again! yay! Did you hear about the job in hopkinsville? When are you moving? If I can, I'll try to be there for the unloading/unpacking process!! I miss you guys!!
